For viable mold sampling, there are two primary ways to
collect mold sample:
1.
Lift Tape Sampling - a method which non-testing professionals can do
using Scotch Tape.
2.
Using
mold test kits - this method requires the sophisticated testing
equipment and services of a
Certified Mold Inspector
or you can use our

Advanced Viable Mold Sample Analysis:

Viable mold testing is the
growing of the collected mold sample in a mold culture plate for 5 to 7
days to maximize the accuracy of mold species and genus microscopic
identification. This method also reports the number of mold colonies
growing for each identified mold. PCI specializes in viable
testing. The advantages of the advanced viable mold sample analysis over
the standard mold sample analysis are the following:
-
Digital color photographs
of both the molds growing in the mold culture plate. If you are
making or defending a legal or insurance claim against a seller,
realtor, builder, contractor, landlord, lender, etc., other mold experts
can use your photo's to confirm our lab's very accurate mold
identifications.
-
Storage
of your mold samples for 10 years [most of our lab competitors
destroy lab samples after just 30 days!]. This is helpful to you in
making or defending a legal or insurance claim because fresh mold
cultures of the samples you collected TODAY can be grown anytime in the
future from the dried mold spores resident in your mold plates.
-
A detailed written
commentary of EACH mold identified [usually several pages long],
including its human health consequences, is attached as an appendix to
each of your mold lab reports.
